West Essex Graphic Design students create designs for spring show.

Graphic Arts Teacher Marjorie Jameson congratulates students David Wong and Celina Marzullo. David, a senior from Fairfield, created a design in class which was selected for the T-shirt for the West Essex Masquers' Spring Musical "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." Celina, a junior from Fairfield, had her design selected for the poster for the show, which will be performed March 21-23 at 7:30 p.m. in the High School Auditorium.
Mrs. Jameson asked her students to create possible designs for the poster and T-shirt for the show. West Essex High School Choral Director and West Essex Masquers' Director Christa Sorrentino selected the winners. "I learned how to deal with deadlines and how to please them (a client).," said Celina, who plans to study graphic design in college. "The design took me two weeks and required a lot of editing."Mrs. Jameson said her graphic design students create designs and logos for many school events and are currently designing possible logos for Drago Landscaping, a local business.

(Tickets to “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” are currently on sale for $15; 12 students in advance  and $18; $15 students at the door. They can be purchased at www.westex.org/masquers or by calling (973) 228-1200 ext. 245.)

John Zapparratta, a junior from Fairfield,  had his design selected for the West Essex Masquers’ Fall production of “Our Town.”
