West Essex High School Athletes Honored

Three West Essex Students Honored as Scholar Athletes

Congratulations to three West Essex High School Scholar Athletes!

Amanda Cassera and Nicholas Soriano have been named Essex County Scholar Athletes and were recognized at a special dinner last month. Nick, who has a 4.22 GPA and plans to attend the University of Michigan in the fall as a political science major, was the West Essex Boys Varsity Soccer Team goalie for two years and also played for three years on the West Essex High School Varsity Basketball Team. He is also president of the West Essex Student Council. Left, Amanda Cassera, scored more than 100 career goals for the West Essex High School Varsity Field Hockey Team. She has also played on the West Essex Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team for four years. She has a 4.2 GPA and is a resident of Fairfield. Amanda will play field hockey at Boston University as a freshman this fall. Zoe Elfenbein  was honored last month as a NJSIAA Scholar Athlete at a dinner last month. Zoe has a 4.47 GPA and has played lacrosse at West Essex for four years. She also plays ice hockey in an independent ice hockey league. Zoe, a resident of North Caldwell plans to attend Emory University in the fall
