West Essex Middle School Annouces Students of the Month for April

West Essex Middle School Principal David Montgomery and West Essex Middle School Assistant Principal Lisa Tamburri have announced the four Students of the Month for April, 2012.

The 7^th Grade Students of the Month are:

Joe Torter

Joe is not only an excellent student, but also a fine young man. Joe is very dedicated to his studies. He always has his work completed on time and is focused and on task at all times. Most importantly Joe is a gentleman; he is polite and well-mannered and works extremely well with his peers. In short, Joe is a pleasure to have in class. Joe is a resident of Essex Fells.

Lisa Giuffre

Lisa is one of the most talented and dedicated students that we have on our team. She is always striving to do her best and is open to construction criticism, which will help her succeed. She is very goal-oriented and has set very high standards for herself. She is a very kind and considerate person who is always willing to help her classmates. Lisa is a resident of Fairfield.

The 8^th Grade Students of the Month are:

Amanda Wasserman

Amanda is very diligent in all her classes. She is respectful and conscientious in all her classes as well. Her work is exemplary. Amanda is a pleasure to have as a student! She will continue to do well in the high school. Amanda is a resident of North Caldwell.

Andreas Georgiou

Andreas is a great student. He is a hard worker and is eager to please. Andreas is motivated and meets the expectations of all his teachers. He is a polite and respectful young man with teachers and peers. Andreas is a pleasure to have in class. Andreas is a resident of North Caldwell.

Every month, West Essex Middle School will select four students to be recognized and honored as the Students of the Month. Two students from each grade will be selected and the selection for each month will come from one academic team at each grade level. Cross-teamed students will not be neglected and will also be included in the selection process. 

To be selected as a Student of the Month, the middle school staff has decided to base candidates and selections on a review of the “whole” student not just the student with the best grades. Character traits such as honesty, perseverance, responsibility, integrity and leadership as well as a student’s academic qualities will be included in selecting students to be honored.

Honored students will have their pictures displayed in the middle school display case outside of the main office and on the middle school website. Honorees are also recognized during the morning announcements and receive a certificate recognizing their accomplishment, a “Student of the Month” locker magnet and a $5.00 Student Store Gift Card.
