West Essex Middle School Holds Mock Presidential Primary

West Essex Middle School students cast their votes in mock Democratic and Republican primaries in the middle school education classroom on Tuesday, June 5.

In the Democratic Primary, President Barack Obama received 106 votes, Senator Robert Menendez 42 and John Arvanites received 81 votes for the 11th Congressional District for the U.S. House of Representatives.

In the Republican primary, Mitt Romney won big in West Essex with 152 votes to Newt Gingrich's 44, Rich Santorum's 12 and Ron Paul's 25. In the Senate race, Joe "Rudy" Rullo won 67 votes, Badger Qarmout 58, David Douglas Brown 49 and Joe Krillos 36. In the 11th Congressional District Representative race, incumbent Rodney Frelinghuysen received 225 votes.
