West Essex Middle School Music Groups Win Awards

Several West Essex Middle School Music groups participated in a Music Showcase Festival at Dorney Park May 11 and brought home first place trophies for the glee club, chorus, concert band, and jazz ensemble.

Lydia DeLuca was recognized as an outstanding soloist for the glee club. Michael Bachmann was also recognized for his xylophone solo with the concert band and his drum solo with the jazz ensemble. The Jazz Ensemble’s Rhythm Band was also named outstanding section.

 The Sopranos received a first place superior rating for the chorus. In addition,  the orchestra received a third place excellent rating at the event.
