West Essex names its ShopRite Stars for the Fourth Marking Period.

Five West Essex High School seniors have been selected as ShopRite Stars for the fourth marking period. They are (from left to right): Gabrielle Roth, Grace Barretti, Valerie Tully, Michael Lentine and Benjamin Gersten. Gabrielle, a junior from North Caldwell, was recognized for Academics since she has a 4.4 GPA and takes three AP classes. Grace, a senior from Essex Fells, was selected for the Arts because of her many awards for visual arts including first place in the Caldwell College Teen Arts Jam. Valerie, a senior from Fairfield, was recognized for Athletics after being named captain of the softball team and her high batting average. She is also a cheerleader. Michael, a senior from North Caldwell, was recognized for Leadership for being captain of the basketball team and volunteer chairman at his church, St. Patrick's in Essex Fells. Benjamin, a junior from Roseland, was selected for Service to the Community for his volunteer work  at Congregation Agudath Israel in Caldwell, his environmental conservation project and the hours he spends tutoring. West Caldwell ShopRite will also make a $1,000 donation to Project Graduation to celebrate the students' achievements and display the students' photos in their store.
