West Essex Students Create Rhythmic Routines With Boomwhackers

Seventh Grade Students in Music Teacher Donna Mateyka's Music Exploratory Class had fun recently in a unit on boomwhackers.

Students did a class teambuilding exercise, coming together to put the boomwhackers in a special order and also broke into small groups to create their own movement and rhythm pieces which they performed for the class.

"I am allowing them to use the floor, walls and each other to create rhythmic pieces," Mateyka said.
