Congratulations to Rachel La Penta of Fairfield who won first place in the Greater Essex County Chapter of the American Conference on Adversity Poster Art Contest. The contest was themed "Defining Moments in Diversity."
Rachel's work was chosen from more than 20 pieces of art submitted from six schools. The winning pieces of art were selected at a recent Humanitarian Award Reception at Mayfair Farms in West Orange The art work was displayed around the reception room for all to see and enjoy. In her essays displayed alongside the art, Rachel wrote: “The picture I drew demonstrates how during a time of crisis, all Americans or people of the world in general can come together (disregarding race and gender) creating diversity and fighting for the country they love and the freedom they believe in. Along with freedom, one of our most important values as people is our diversity.”
