West Essex Welcomes Fifth and Sixth Graders for Music "Buddy Day"

On April 11, West Essex welcomed fifth and sixth grade students from our four sending districts for a special music “Buddy Day.”

Choral students spent the day working with Middle School Choral Director Donna Mateyka, learning new music and performing, while band students worked with Band directors John Scozzaro and Eric Fitzke and orchestra students with Orchestra Director Alex Soares.

 West Essex students also performed for the three groups to encourage the students to participate in the music program when they come to West Essex. Fifth and sixth graders from Essex Fells, Roseland, North Caldwell and Fairfield attend their elementary school districts through sixth grade and then move to the West Essex Regional School District for Middle School and High School.
