Buddhist Monk To Host Workshop In Caldwell: 'Staying Grounded During Difficult Times'

Bhante Wimala will give a talk on "Staying Grounded During Difficult Times" on March 11 in Caldwell.

CALDWELL, NJ — Sri Lankan Buddhist Monk Bhante Y. Wimala will speak about "staying grounded during difficult times" during an appearance at in Caldwell on Saturday, March 11, according to a news release.

Wimala, a Sri Lankan Buddhist Monk since the age of 14, will speak about an approach to life that encompasses a spiritual focus on our actions and thoughts even when we’re not feeling “spiritual," according to event organizers.

For more than 30 years, Wimala has traveled the world speaking, lecturing, and conducting humanitarian projects. Event organizers say that the Dalai Lama calls Wimala "like the cleansing rain, elementally real; he personifies clarity, love, joy and calm."

The workshop will take place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. with a bonus session from 4:30 to 5 p.m., at the Centers For Spiritual Living, 31 Westville Street in Caldwell. The admission fee is $45 or $50 at the door; $20 for youth ages 21 and under.
