Burglary Reported at Bangkok Kitchen

Cash Stolen from Register After Store Closed Saturday Night

Caldwell Police Det. Sgt. Tony Marta reported a burglary occurred sometime after closed last Saturday night, Aug. 13.  A cash register was broken into with $160 in cash reported stolen.

The break in was first reported to police by an employee of  on Sunday afternoon at 2:04 p.m.  "This leaves a large window of time," Marta said, as Bangkok Kitchen closed at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday and was not scheduled to reopen until 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The Cloverleaf employee informed police after noticing a broken window at Bangkok Kitchen that looks out to an allleyway between the two restaurants.

Marta reports in addition to the broken window, the wooden frame was removed and steel casing was bent inward, indicating the burglar used some type of tool to gain entrance.  Broken bricks and mortar were also found at the scene.

The window leads into the kitchen area of Bangkok kitchen.  Marta reports the cash drawer was pried open to get to the cash.  A can of whip cream was also removed from the refrigerator and sprayed onto the cash register.

The burglary remains under investigation.
