Caldwell 5K Race Returns For 5th Year, Honors Meghan Doyle

CALDWELL, NJ — Mount St. Dominic Academy, an independent, all-girls college preparatory high school in Caldwell, will host the 5th annual MSDA Meghan Doyle ʼ05K, a five-kilometer (3.1-mile) run/walk on Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m.

According to a news release from Mount St. Dominic Academy, the race was created in honor of a graduate of the school’s class of 2005, Meghan Doyle, who passed away after a brief and sudden illness in May 2013.

All proceeds from the event go directly to the MSDA financial assistance program. (Learn more about this local event here)

New for this year’s race is the addition of cash prizes for the top female and male finishers: $250 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd place, and $50 for 3rd place. In addition, in celebration of the event’s 5th anniversary, finishers will receive an MSDA Meghan Doyle ‘05K “commemorative medal.”

RACE DETAILS

The 2019 MSDA Meghan Doyle ʼ05K begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, and runs through the neighborhoods surrounding the Mount St. Dominic Academy / Caldwell University campus, amid the scenic rolling hills of Caldwell and Essex Fells, New Jersey. A certified USATF Grand Prix 500-point race, in addition to cash awards for the top three women and top three men overall, runners in various age groups will also receive prizes. Registration for the MSDA Meghan Doyle ʼ05K, open to runners, walkers and strollers, is open through RunSignup, with discounted registration fees until May 1.

• Early Registration (before May 1): Adults - $25; USATF Members - $22 (member # required); Students & Children 18 and under - $20
