Caldwell American Legion Honors Roseland Veteran
Douglass Dennman received Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge

On Saturday, March 14, the James Caldwell Post 185 American Legion honored Douglass J. Dennman of Roseland for his 70 years of continued service.
Dennman was presented with a Certificate of Continuous Membership which read: “Issued in grateful application for faithful service and dedicated allegiance to the ideals of the American Legion.”
According to a release, Dennman joined the Legion in 1945 after returning from World War II. During his service, he received the Purple Heart, The Bronze Star, The Combat Infantry Badge, the Medal of Metz, the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory Medal, the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal and the Order of St. Maurice by the National Infantry Association, among other honors.

He is a life-long resident of the West Essex community, serving as a councilman in North Caldwell and a former president of the Caldwell-West Essex Kiwanis Club.
