Former Caldwell Student to Speak at Fundraising Event

'Rock Out Lung Cancer' will feature live entertainment, survivor stories.

James Caldwell High School graduate Alison Taylor, a postdoctoral researcher at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, will be returning to Caldwell to speak at the third annual “Rock Out Lung Cancer” event on Sunday, April 12.

In addition to a presentation from Taylor, the event will feature a live performance from 12-piece band Street Hassle and a jazz dance performance from Whippany-based Sharon’s Studio of Dance and Music’s Starlites.

According to a release, the “Rock Out Lung Cancer” event is the brainchild of Prelude to a Cure founder and West Caldwell resident Claire Mattern, a cancer survivor and classically trained pianist who wanted to combine her love of music with her strong desire to help other cancer patients.
