Caldwell Man Charged With Posession of Child Pornography
Man is a math teacher in Carteret, former sub for Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools.

A Caldwell man who worked as a substitute teacher at in West Caldwell in 2010 has been charged for possession of child pornography, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Sean Coghlan, 28, of Caldwell, was arrested at his home on Thursday, Jan. 5 and has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child by possessing images and videos of child pornography, a fourth degree offense.

Coghlan was released on his own recognizance.
Coghlan was suspended without pay from St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Carteret, where he is a 5th grade math teacher, according to a report on MyCentralJersey.com.
Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools Superintendent Daniel Gerardi confirmed Thurday that Coghlan worked for the district in May and June 2010 while a third grade teacher at Washington School was on maternity leave.
Gerardi said Coghlan was appointed to a temporary replacement position at Washington from September to November 2010, but resigned prior to the start of the school year.
According to the superintendent, Coghlan worked in a set construction position for the 2010 high school musical production.

Coghlan had his first court appearance on Thursday, according to Katherine Carter, spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. Carter said no other date has been set.
