Caldwell Police Continue To Investigate Severe Car Crash

Authorities continue to investigate a “severe motor vehicle crash” that took place in Caldwell on the morning of Sept. 26.

“The two-vehicle crash is under investigation by both my department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office,” Caldwell Police Chief James Bongiorno told Patch. “Upon completion of the investigation we will be able to release the specifics.”

A spokeswoman at the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office referred Patch to the Caldwell Police Department for comment.

The West Caldwell Police Department reported that a “severe motor vehicle crash” closed Bloomfield Avenue between Westover and Central Avenues on the morning of Sept. 26.

The WCPD reported that the road was opened about an hour later.
