Caldwell Police Fundraise For NJ Special Olympics

The Caldwell Police Department will be participating in the 2018 Special Olympics NJ Charity Football Game at Metlife Stadium on March 9.

CALDWELL, NJ — The Caldwell Police Department will be participating in the 2018 Special Olympics NJ Charity Football Game at Metlife Stadium on March 9.

According to the Caldwell Police Department, their 2017 fundraising effort raised $6,750 from local businesses, family and friends. The Caldwell Police Department was also honored with the “Touchdown Trophy” from the Special Olympics New Jersey Committee for being one of the top fundraisers of the event and raising over $5,000. The team finished number #9 out of 156 teams that participated in the event for fundraising.

In three years, the CPD has raised $17,611 for the Special Olympics and has a team record of 11-3.

All proceeds collected by the flag football teams benefit Special Olympics New Jersey athletes and help foster the Special Olympics mission of providing year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-Type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, the CPD stated.
