Caldwell Police To Hold 2021 National Night Out
The free event will include refreshments, entertainment and a dunk tank, as well as safety info from local police, fire and EMS workers.
CALDWELL, NJ — The Caldwell Police Department will host its annual National Night Out event from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at the Caldwell University Student Center Parking Lot, 120 Bloomfield Avenue.
The event is free and open to the public. It will include refreshments, entertainment and a dunk tank. Guerriero Gelato & Cakes, Foodtown and Cloverleaf Tavern will provide refreshments and there will be tables with safety information from local police, fire and EMS workers.
Caldwell residents are also encouraged to participate by turning on their home or porch lights beginning at 9 p.m. to show support for National Night Out and to promote neighborhood safety.

According to a news release, the National Night Out program began in 1984 as a way to promote citizen involvement in crime prevention activities and police-community partnerships. The program on the first Tuesday of every August involves nearly 38 million people and more than 16,000 communities across the country, and U.S. territories and military bases worldwide.
