CALDWELL, NJ — Officers from the Caldwell Police Department recently took part in the Essex County Opioid Awareness Walk, an effort to help put people on the road to recovery.

The Caldwell Police Department said it was an honor to participate:

“The walk was organized by the Essex County Opioid Task Force – A Program of Essex Health and Wellness Recovery Center. The walk began in Newark and participants walked east along Bloomfield Ave ending at Caldwell University in Caldwell. The road to recovery is long and the first couple of steps are the most difficult. This walk allows us to work together to raise awareness of the opioid epidemic, prevent use, decrease stigma around addiction, and offer treatment and recovery supports. We want to make sure everyone has the help needed to successfully walk the road to recovery.”
