Caldwell area residents who have always wanted to be a local cop have a chance to get their foot in the door.

CALDWELL, NJ — Caldwell area residents who have always wanted to be a local cop have a chance to get their foot in the door.
On Wednesday, the Caldwell Police Department announced that its accepting applications for auxiliary police officers. According to police:
“If you are interested in applying to become a Caldwell auxiliary police officer, please contact Sergeant Stabile at (973) 226-2600 or via email at pstabile@caldwellpd.org. The requirements to apply for the position is the applicant needs to live within five miles of the agency and must be at least 18-years-old. If your home town offers the program you need to apply with them. The training is approximately 12 weeks long and classes are held twice a week during the evening for three hours. After the training is complete the auxiliary officer is required to work 24 hours a quarter to keep their certification valid.”
