Caldwell Synagogue Members Walk The Streets For Israel

More than 250 members of Congregation Agudath Israel in Caldwell participated in the 14th annual 5K Israel Walkathon.

They walked the streets of Caldwell… for Israel.

In October, Congregation Agudath Israel in Caldwell participated in the 14th annual 5K Israel Walkathon, walking the Caldwell streets in support of programming in Israel.

According to a release, the walkathon was in support of “youth-oriented, educational, and religious pluralism programs for all areas of Israeli society through partner communities in Israel.”

The walk attracted 250 children, teens, adults, and seniors, and for the first time, students from the Congregation Agudath Israel Early Childhood Center, organizers stated.

The Early Childhood Center and Religious School students walked waving handmade flags made in class with their teachers. Other festivities included singing, eating and dancing, as well as a children’s walk around the synagogue building to support victims of terrorism in Israel.

According to a release, funds raised in the walkathon will help to aid programs such as national NOAM, nursery schools offering Jewish content, scholarships for underprivileged teens, special needs Bar/Bat mitzvah students, meals for needy Jewish children, and lone soldiers.
