Caldwell University Gets Award for 'Walk a Mile in Her Shoes' Event
Over 100 male students and staff donned high heels to raise funds for battered women's shelter.
Caldwell University’s Department of Athletics was honored for its participation in “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes,” a national event that raises awareness to prevent violence against women.
The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) awarded the university its “2014-15 CACC Community Engagement Award,” which is presented annually to one institution that best promotes the community engagement initiative adopted by Division II. A committee of senior woman administrators from the CACC selects the winner from the pool of nominees provided to the conference each spring.
The award also includes a $1,000 grant that can be used towards other various community engagement initiatives in the future.
