Caldwell University To Host Garden State Opera, Hold Free Show For Students

The Caldwell University Music Department will present the Garden State Opera with two performances on Sunday, October 22.

From Caldwell University: The Caldwell University Music Department will present the Garden State Opera performing “Francesca da Rimini” by Sergei Rachmaninoff and “The Marriage Counselor” by Francesco Santelli, 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 22 in the Student Center Auditorium.

Singers from the Caldwell University Chorale and the Masterwork Chorus Camerata will perform in the production sung in German and English and accompanied by full orchestra.

Dancers from Manhattanville College and Montclair State University will perform under the direction of Lynne Needle (artistic director of Art of Motion Dance Co.) and choreographer Allison Pagano.

This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs and a generous grant from the Achelis and Bodman Foundations.

There will be a free performance for schools 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 20. Reservations are required.
