Caldwell University Names New Head Volleyball Coach

CALDWELL, NJ — Caldwell University recently named a new head volleyball coach who has “strong ties to the New Jersey volleyball scene,” administrators say.

Seth Jones, a 2022 graduate of Montclair State University and a Colonia native, was named as the university’s new head volleyball coach last week.

Jones succeeds Hector Colon, who resigned in November following his second year at the helm.

The university’s newest coach has strong ties to the New Jersey volleyball scene, administrators said:

“[Jones] has served as assistant women's volleyball coach at Union College as well as assistant boys coach at Colonia High School, freshman girls coach at Saint John Vianney High School in Holmdel and lead coach/clinician at Garden State Attack volleyball Club in Freehold.”

Jones, 26, also serves as a substitute teacher in New Jersey. He was a communication and media arts major at MSU, with a concentration in television and digital media. Jones also played varsity volleyball at St. Joseph (Metuchen) High School, graduating in 2017.

“I'm excited to get started right away in working with the returning student-athletes as well as bringing new ones to Caldwell University,” Jones said.

“I look forward to the challenge of returning the program to the top of the CACC,” he added.
