Caldwell-West Caldwell Ed. Foundation Plans Annual 5K
4th Annual 5k set for Saturday, May 12 at James Caldwell High School

While Spring has taken a long time to arrive in the Caldwell’s, preparations for the Caldwell West Caldwell Education Foundation’s (CWCEF) 4th annual 5K fundraiser on Saturday, May 12 have been heating up. The race will kick off at 9 am on James Caldwell High School (JCHS) and will take runners on a route looping through Grover Cleveland Park before crossing the finish line back at JCHS.
The annual event, a certified Grand Prix Race sanctioned by the NJ Track and Field Organization, attracts both professional runners as well as members of the community and students. Over the past three years, over 600 runners and walkers have participated in the 5k who come not only for the race but to support the Education Foundation.

Runners and walkers will have the opportunity both before and after the racer to listen to a DJ, sample light refreshments, and browse sponsor tables.
“The Education Foundation’s 5K is truly a win-win event. It brings the entire community together for a fun, healthy activity while raising valuable funds for the Education Foundation”, commented CWCEF Foundation Chairperson Mary Ann Campion.

100 percent of profits generated from the CWCEF 5K target programs benefitting all children in the Caldwell West Caldwell school district. The Foundation has helped to fund educational programs and purchase equipment for classroom use that would not necessarily be available within the district’s budget. “Helping every student in our district be successful and exceed expectations is the heart of our mission,” stated Campion.
Sponsors that have already pledged support for The CWC Education Foundation, a 501C (3) tax exempt charitable organization, include NJ Sharing Network, Iron Physical Therapy, Anderson Land Surveying, Jack’s Super Foodtown, K. Macken Landscaping, C-2 Educational Center, Product Identification Company, Women’s Club of Caldwell, Russo Brothers & Company, and Sylvan Learning of Caldwell.

Participants in the 5K may register online at cwcef5k.org or in person. Onlne registration ends on May 5. is $25 for adults and $20 for youth (ages 5-18): after May 9, $30 for adults and $25 for youth. USATF-NJ Members pay a flat fee, $22.
