Caldwell-West Caldwell Students Accepted into Honors Band Program
Flautist to perform at Carnegie Hall
Four students in the Caldwell-West Caldwell School District have been accepted into the North Jersey Music Educators Association Region I Junior High School Chorus and Region I Junior High School Band.
Mina Yi, a ninth grade student at James Caldwell High School, was accepted into the Region I Junior High School Band. Yi will perform with the Region I Junior High School Band on flute. Yi auditioned, qualified and performed with North Jersey Area Symphonic Band (NJASB) for 2015, and was the first place winner of the Crescendo Music Competition held at Caldwell University, and as a result will be playing at Carnegie Hall, according to the school district.
Under the guidance of chorus director Deana Larsen and band director Andrew Burrows, Grover Cleveland Middle School students Natasha LaChac, Kylie LaBianca and Zoe Vandergast were placed into Region I Junior High School Chorus. The annual statewide Honor Choir program is for outstanding elementary and junior high singers. LaChac, LaBianca and Vandergast will sing with the NJ Junior High Honor Choir for grades 7-9, mixed voicing.
