In The Caldwells: 2015 High School Graduation Moved Indoors

The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. in the school's Center for Performing Arts.

Due to the weather forecasts, the graduation ceremony for the James Caldwell High School Class of 2015 will be held in the school’s Center for Performing Arts, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22.

According to a website post from JCHS Principal Kevin Barnes:

“Each graduate will receive three tickets, as fire code allows, which will allow entry into the Center for Performing Arts. Those tickets must be displayed when entering the CPA. Overflow seating (for those with no tickets) will be available in the air-conditioned Cafeteria. A simulcast program, complete with sound, will be presented in the cafeteria.

“The CPA has sensors. The sensors, if triggered by balloons, or beach balls, will set off the fire alarms. If an alarm sound, ALL must exit the building, and the program must be ended. Please be mindful of this concern, and advise your graduate. Please DO NOT bring any types of balloons, beverages, food in to the CPA.

“There is always a balance between the weather, preparation and comfort. I have decided that Mother Nature usually wins these debates, hence the decision to have tonight’s program indoors. Although I have tried to convince her to cooperate with us, Mother Nature must not be listening.

“The James Caldwell High School parking lot will be VERY CROWDED, so I suggest you get here early. While the doors to the school will remain open throughout the day, the Center for Performing Arts doors will open at 5:15 PM. Ticket takers will be at those doors to allow entry to the Center of Performing Arts.”
