Caldwells 2019 Election Guide: Council, BOE Candidates

Local elections will take place in Caldwell, North Caldwell and West Caldwell. Here's what you need to know.

CALDWELLS, NJ — Residents of Caldwell, North Caldwell and West Caldwell will vote for council and board of education members in the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Here’s what voters in the Caldwells need to know about the 2019 election.

POLLING PLACES, TIMES

Voters who need to find their local polling place can visit the New Jersey Division of Elections website. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Learn more about your rights as a voter in New Jersey. Complaints about election day conduct at your local polling place can be directed to the New Jersey Election Hotline at 1-877-658-6837.

CALDWELL BOROUGH COUNCIL

In Caldwell, voters will choose between four candidates for two seats on the borough council. Each term lasts three years.

Democratic candidates Frances DePalma-Iozzi and Jeffrey Gates garnered 217 and 210 votes respectively in the June primary election.

Republican candidates Pasquale Capozzoli and Sue Ann Penna garnered 122 and 119 votes in the primary election.

NORTH CALDWELL BOROUGH COUNCIL

In North Caldwell, voters will choose between four candidates for two seats on the borough council. Each term lasts three years.

Republican candidates Arthur Rees and Kenneth Tilton garnered 140 and 135 votes respectively in the June primary election.

Anthony Floria-Callori and Edward Ted Roth are running on the "North Caldwell Now" ticket.

WEST CALDWELL TOWN COUNCIL

West Caldwell residents will vote for two open town council seats. Each term lasts three years.

The two Republican candidates - Joseph Cecere and Stephen Wolsky - are running unopposed.

CALDWELL-WEST CALDWELL BOARD OF EDUCATION

Voters who live in the Caldwell-West Caldwell Public School District will choose between three candidates for two open seats on the board of education. Each term lasts three years.

The candidates are:

  • Dan Cipoletti
  • Christopher Elko
  • Marie Lanfrank

WEST ESSEX REGIONAL BOARD OF EDUCATION

Voters who live in the West Essex Regional Public School District will choose between four candidates for two open seats on the board of education. Each term lasts three years.

The candidates for 2019 are:

  • Judith Amorim Dias
  • Jill Marcus
  • Anthony Prinzo
  • Jann Skelton

The West Essex Regional School District serves the towns of Essex Fells, Fairfield, North Caldwell and Roseland.

NORTH CALDWELL SCHOOL BOARD

Robert Projansky is running unopposed for the lone open seat on the board of education at the North Caldwell Public School District.
