A New York Times report is predicting “the worst Memorial Day traffic in 10 years” due to cheaper gas prices and travelers’ desires to get back outside after a particularly cold winter.

Following a harsh winter, many Americans are trading in their snow boots for flip-flops and making plans to start the season with a vacation getaway,” Marshall L. Doney, the president of AAA, said in the report.
