In the Caldwells: Weekend Power Outages Affect Hundreds
A Sunday night power outage in West Caldwell was caused when a car struck a utility pole on Bloomfield Avenue, PSE&G says.

“Throughout the night, strong breezes have been taking down large branches and live wires around the West Essex area,” West Essex Now reported on Saturday.

According to West Essex Now, power outages were reportedly seen:
- On Sunday night in West Caldwell in the area of Bloomfield Avenue, Bond Place, Clinton Road, Fairfield Avenue, Gray Avenue, Lane Avenue, Melrose Place and Westville Avenue.
- On Saturday morning in North Caldwell on Hamilton Drive East and North, Evergreen Drive, Spruce Road, Mountain Avenue near Rt. 23, Oak Place, Birch Avenue and Wildwood Drive.
- On Saturday morning in West Caldwell in the area of ShopRite.
A PSE&G spokeswoman told Patch that Sunday night’s outage in West Caldwell – which left 900 customers without power for 25 minutes – was caused when a car struck a pole on Bloomfield Avenue.
