Children's Community Garden at Caldwell Library
Kids can learn about growing vegetables, the environment and horticulture by participating in the Caldwell PL Children's Garden Club.

Caldwell Public Library, 268 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ- The Caldwell Public Library is starting a children’s garden club this spring to build a community garden behind the library. Each session will include hands-on working in the garden, including planting and taking care of vegetables and herbs in planting beds. Learn with Master Gardeners and other professionals about how seeds grow, the difference between good bugs and not-so-good bugs, and composting. Kids will keep a journal to document what they have learned by participating in the club. A Harvest Festival will be held in the Fall to celebrate the hard work dedicated to building and maintaining the community garden. The club will meet Saturdays @ 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. on the following dates: March 19, April 2, April 23, May 14, May 21, June 4 & June 18. Kids will also sign up for a rotating watering and weeding schedule. This program is made possible by the generosity of the Kiwanis Club of Caldwell/West Essex. For students in grades 4 and up.
