Cougar Pride Day was created to raise awareness and donations for breast cancer, autism, cancer and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Proceeds from the day, including gate and concession revenues and a 50-50 raffle, were donated to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, the American Cancer Society as a part of, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Cougar Pride Day was sponsored by Cougar Pride, the official booster club of Caldwell College Athletics, and Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning, which arranged to have Dave Hopla perform.
The day featured Caldwell's men's and women's basketball teams in a doubleheader, and each of the approximately 600 attendees received a free hot dog and a t-shirt. The Cougar Pep Band played during both games, and several participants won Cougar t-shirts in a shooting contest held at halftime of the women's game.
Also, Caldwell alumni gathered in the Quigley Board Room on the second floor of the George R. Newman Center for a reception during both games.
