Man Arrested After North Caldwell Home Burglary Attempt: PD

North Caldwell police arrested a Jersey City man during a home burglary attempt, authorities said.

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — North Caldwell police arrested a Jersey City man during a home burglary attempt on Friday, authorities said.

The North Caldwell Police Department issued the following statement about the alleged home burglary on Friday:

“A 25-year-old male from Jersey City was arrested this morning in a stolen vehicle attempting to commit a burglary to a residence on Willowbrook Drive. A concerned resident called 911 to report a male attempting to gain entry into the rear of a home on Williowbrook Drive. A quick police response located a person fitting the description driving a black Audi on Brookside Terrace. The car was reported stolen this morning from Lyndhurst. Officers Herbert and Depoe were able to take the suspect into custody without incident.”

“It takes a collective effort to ensure we keep North Caldwell a safe place to live. The North Caldwell police are appreciative to the resident for making the call and for the quick and efficient police response by both officers. Essex Fells, West Caldwell, Roseland and Fairfield police all sent units to search the area and ensure the suspect was acting alone.”
