The choirs of The First Presbyterian Church at
Caldwell will present the Christmas classic, "Amahl and the
Night Visitors" on Wednesday, December 29th at 4:00 and
7:00pm in the church sanctuary. This 50-minute opera is by
noted composer Gian Carlo Menotti (1911-2007).
Featured in the starring role of Amahl, the crippled
shepherd boy, is 5th grader, Ben Mulick. His mother is played
by mezzo-soprano, Jaime Maraviglia. The three Kings,
following the Star of Bethlehem in search of the Christ Child
will feature Troy Guinn-Bailey (Kaspar), Noel Piercy
(Melchoir) and Kevin Pasternak (Balthazar). Trevor Heun will
play the role of the Page. An intergenerational chorus of
shepherds will feature choir members from the FPC choirs.
Adriana Piercy is choreographing the shepherd's dance and
Diana Baer is providing dramatic assistance. Chancel Choir
member and artist, Laurie Brunner, is designing the Star of
Bethlehem.
Don't miss the opportunity to extend the holiday's
events with this special blessing! A free-will offering will be
taken at the performance.
