Black Maria Film Festival

The Caldwell Merchants Association is sponsoring the

Black Maria Film Festival at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 24,         at Caldwell Flowerland, 329 Bloomfield Ave.

The Black Maria takes its name from Thomas Edison's pioneering 1893 film studio. Each year since 1981, a panel of film scholars has selected about forty-five short films submitted from around the world to showcase at the festival throughout the United States.

The program consists of about a dozen award winning documentary, animation, and narrative films shown on a giant permanent screen with commentary by a Festival spokesperson.

Tickets are $10 and are being sold at the following locations:

Tickets will not be sold at the door.

The following restaurants will offer 20 percent off dinner after the show when a ticket is presented: Bangkok Kitchen, Calandra's Italian Village, Caldwell Seafood, Cloverleaf Tavern, Ocha Japanese Restaurant, Rock'n Joe Coffeehouse & Bistro.
