Books NJ 2011

The Paramus Public Library and the Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS) are proud to announce BooksNJ2011, a celebration of books and the readers who love them , on Sunday, June 12 from 1 to 5 pm. Over 100 authors, illustrators and poets are committed to attending.

Among the authors will be New York Times bestselling novelist Mary Higgins Clark, mystery novelists Wallace Stroby, Brad Parks, and Todd Ritter, investigative journalists Ted Sherman and Josh Margolin (authors of The Jersey Sting), poets Diane Lockward and George Witte, and many more. 

The BooksNJ festival will showcase writers from the state of New Jersey and invites all lovers of literature to attend. You can expect a parade of popular and critically acclaimed authors born and bred in the Garden State. Modeled after the annual National Book Festival in Washington, DC, there will be outdoor areas devoted to poetry, fiction, non-fiction, children’s literature, and books for young adults.

Participants can attend panel discussions on a variety of topics and meet authors from many genres.  Panel topics include learning history through fiction, character development, getting published, “my first novel,” issues facing women writers, and much more.  Other activities include storytelling, author readings, a poetry slam, book signings and much more.
