Fiddler on the Roof

The musical Fiddler on the Roof will be performed on Friday through Sunday, April 30 – May 2, at The First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell. Admission is by a suggested donation of $10.00.  The church is located in Caldwell at 326 Bloomfield Avenue.  Performance times are 7:30pm on Friday, April 30 and Saturday, May 1, and at 6:00pm on Sunday May 2. The doors will open 30 minutes before the performance begins.  Further information is available at 973-228-0310 or www.firstprescaldwell.org.

The show—by Joseph Stein, Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick—is based on the early 20th century stories by Sholom Aleichem about life in a Jewish village on the eve of the Russian Revolution. One of the most beloved musicals in the repertory, it includes several unforgettable songs including "If I Were a Rich Man," "Matchmaker," "Sunrise Sunset," and "To Life."

The cast consists of over 60 members of the church's two youth choirs, grades 6 through 12, directed by Rev. Barbara Jo Piercy, the church's music director, with choreography by Adriana Piercy and Diana Baer.  The young people have been rehearsing since September for the show, also assisted by coaches, costume designers, lighting designers, prop masters, sound technicians, musicians, and many more.
