The Language Institute of West Caldwell is planning a bus trip to The Michener Museum in Doylestown, PA for a rare opportunity to view a collection of works from the famed Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. The Uffizi is one of the world’s oldest and most important museums with 1.6 million visitors per year and it has the largest collection of Botticelli’s including The Birth of Venus.
Offering of the Angels: Treasures from the Uffizi Gallery, is a collection of forty-three paintings and two tapestries and includes works from the Renaissance and Baroque periods by such masters as Botticelli, Tiziano, Tintoretto, Parmigianino and their contemporaries.
Never before has an entire exhibit built solely from the world-renown Uffizi’s magnificent collection been in the United States. Some of these paintings, although part of the Uffizi collection, have not been on display in recent history including a recently restored painting attributed to Tiziano (Titian).
