Magicians, balloons, street theater and tours of the historic birthplace are all part of the fun at the 20th annual ice cream social, to be held on Monday, July 4 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
While a DJ will provide a modern touch, children may dress up in Victorian costumes, enjoy Cleveland era games such as marbles, watch the Phydeau flea circus, or an old time patent medicine show.
While there are no admission charges and many events are free, donations are accepted. The ice cream social is sponsored and supported by volunteers from the Caldwell Kiwanis, Caldwell and Fairfield Rotary, Masons and Caldwell Merchants Association, as well as members of the Birthplace Memorial Association.
