Laura Schroff’s best-selling incredible true story, An Invisible Thread, is a moving account of how her chance encounter 25 years ago with 11 year old Maurice Mazcyk, begging for lunch money, changed both their lives. Mount Saint Dominic Academy and Caldwell College are pleased to present an evening with Ms. Schroff, her co-author Alex Tresniowski, and Maurice on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 7 pm in Mount Saint Dominic Academy’s Doris M. Byrne Performing Arts Center. The three will sign books following the presentation. Admission is free. Books will be available for purchase that evening. An Invisible Thread is about an unlikely friendship between a boy from the streets of New York and a busy sales executive, a friendship that was certainly meant to be. “Whatever made me notice him on that street corner so many years ago is clearly something that cannot be extinguished, no matter how relentless the forces aligned against it,” writes Schroff. “Some may call it spirit. Some might call it heart. Whatever it was, it drew me to him, as if we were bound by some invisible, unbreakable thread. And whatever it is, it binds us still.”
