The first event of the 2010/2011 Music Series, The Lullaby of Broadway – Cabaret 2010, will be held at The First Presbyterian Church, 326 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, on Sunday, September 26 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. An ensemble of 24 singers and dancers will present a musical revue of songs from popular Broadway Shows from the past and present. The audience will enjoy hearing songs from historic musical classics such as West Side Story," "Meet Me in St. Louis" and Kiss Me Kate" and new contemporary shows including, "Urinetown" and "Parade."
The performers are members of the Westminster Choir and invited youth from the community. The church sponsored youth choir is known in the community for their outstanding musical productions. The 2011 Touring Choir will be performing the popular musical, "Godspell" at host churches in southern Florida.
The doors will open 30 minutes before each performance. A suggested donation of $10 will be collected at the door and refreshments will be available for purchase before the performance and during intermission. Proceeds for the event will support The Sara Jane Hussey Memorial Fund which provides scholarships for choir tour and funds other youth choir activities.
