Cielo Restaurant and Bar, www.cielonj.com, regularly features farm-to-table specialties on their menu. Vegetables and herbs are grown in Chef Anthony’s kitchen garden or purchased from local farmers. Fish is Chef Anthony’s forte. He makes his fish purchases daily from the Hunts Point Market and has locally unavailable fishes such as John Dory and Albino Wild Salmon flown in.
A wonderful selection of quality local farmers and specialty food providers can be found every week at the Caldwell Farmers’ Market. Hog Wild BBQ will be a special guest vendor this week and next, offering their delicious pulled pork and chicken, brisket, ribs, corn bread, specialty sauces and iced teas. The Pie Store, offers freshly baked pies, scones and pastries. Snoep Winkel Farms carries a full selection of naturally raised meat and eggs. John D Madura Farms grows a variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs, using all-natural farming techniques. They also offer a wide variety of cultivated and foraged mushrooms. Schaeffer Farms offers multi colored eggs from over a dozen breeds of chickens, local honey, and fresh produce. Iona Hill Farms carries a large selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables as well as fruit butters and preserves. Jaker’s Pickles has delicious sauerkraut in addition to their selection of specialty pickles. Gourmet Fruit and Nuts offers delicious assortment of dried fruits and nuts.

The Caldwell Farmers’ Market runs every Friday, 12-6, in the Smull Avenue municipal parking lot, behind Caldwell Cinema, with access from both Smull Ave and Personette Streets. The market is organized and managed by Project Main Street volunteers committed to making a difference in Caldwell’s downtown.
