West Essex Art Association April Demo

The West Essex Art Association is proud to announce their demonstrator for their April 12th meeting is award winning artist John B. Wolff, one of New Jerseys' premier watercolor portrait artists.

Never having any formal Art training, John has taken drawing and watercolor classes with and been influenced by Elizabeth Horowitz,  Joel Tidy, Paul McCormack,Tony Ryder, Stan Miller and Mel Stabin.

From the artists' bio: "Most of my recent work has been focused on portrait and figure work.  What attracts me is that little moment in time that suggests a thought or action on the part of the subject....or as others have said, "an arrested movement" of the head or body....a gesture, if you will.  I don't want to illustrate a moment.  Rather, I try to suggest that "something is going on" and leave the answer up to the viewer."

At the demo, John will be painting a portrait of "Mario" (attached).

The April  meeting of the West Essex Art Association will be held on Wednesday, April 12th at Cranes Mill Recreation room, lower level,  495 Passaic Avenue in West Caldwell ,N.J. The demo begins at 8 pm. All artists and public are welcome to what promises to be one of our most popular demos this season.
