Experience NYC's Lower East Side At Caldwell Library

A licensed NYC Tour Guide will take visitors on a virtual trip of the Lower East Side from the comfort of the Caldwell Library.

Want to get a taste of NYC’s Lower East Side, but don’t want to leave the Caldwells?

On Thursday, Sept. 17, at 6:30 p.m., at the Caldwell Public Library, 268 Bloomfield Ave., Marty Schneit, a licensed New York City tour guide, will lead participants on a “trip to the Lower East Side.”

Schneit will tell visitors a series of stories and tidbits that recount the lives of some of the neighborhood’s most famous residents, such as Irving Berlin, Eddie Cantor and George Burns, as well as Rabbi Eisenberg, one of the few remaining torah scribes remaining in the Lower East Side.

Schneit will also expound on eateries such as Schimmel’s Knishes, Katz’s Deli, Ansche Chesed and The Daily Forward.

Refreshments will be served. Reservations are required by calling the Caldwell Library at 973-226-2837.
