First Aid Squad In Caldwells Gets Items To Help Children In Ambulances
Established in 1937, the West Essex First Aid Squad serves a 21-square-mile area. They are seeking volunteers for various duties.

THE CALDWELLS, NJ — West Essex First Aid Squad members Jessica Anello and John Ginefra recently visited the Kiwanis Club of Caldwell-West Essex to thank them for their support.
Established in 1937, the West Essex First Aid Squad is a not for profit organization providing emergency medical and rescue services across a 21 square mile service area.
The Kiwanis Club of Caldwell-West Essex donated an automated CPR machine, as well as restraints that let kids ride in the ambulance to be safely transported for medical care. The restraints protect kids from four to 188 lbs.

The CPR machine provides the automatic chest compressions, which is the most physically demanding part of administering CPR, Squad members said.
"We have already used the machine on many calls and it makes providing CPR so much easier for the members of the Squad," Anello said.
