Flash Flood Watch Announced For North Jersey
The following New Jersey counties are included in the watch: Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Union and Hudson.

The National Weather Service is issuing a flash flood watch from overnight Monday through Tuesday afternoon.
The following New Jersey counties are included in the watch: Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Union and Hudson.
According to forecasters, showers and thunderstorms could produce heavy rain “capable of causing urban flash flooding.”

One to two inches of rain is expected, with as much as three inches possible in some areas, the National Weather Service said. Rain may fall as fast as two inches per hour. “Urban areas that receive the heaviest amounts could experience disruptive impacts,” the National Weather Service said.
Some small streams in Northeast New Jersey could approach bank full if directly impacted by the storm, the NWS said.

Tonight: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after 3am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 69. South wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tuesday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 80. South wind 11 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
Tuesday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before midnight, then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
