Food Drive In West Caldwell: ‘Cram A Cruiser’ For The Community

Here's what donations are being sought for the "Cram A Cruiser" food drive in West Caldwell.

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — A food drive will take place at the ShopRite in West Caldwell to help local residents in need.

According to a message from the West Caldwell Police Department, the “Cram A Cruiser” food drive will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the ShopRite of West Caldwell, 540 Passaic Avenue, on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Saturday, Nov. 9.

“The West Caldwell Police Department has joined forces with our local food pantry again to help residents who are in need of food. To this end, we ask that you help us - help others by joining in the Cram A Cruiser Food Drive. When shopping on Oct. 12 and Nov. 9, please consider buying something from the list [below] and give it to our police officers at the door when you leave. Thank you for your support!”

Needed items include tuna/chicken in a can, peanut butter and jelly, mac and cheese, snacks for kids, granola bars, rice, black beans, cereal, canned fruit, pasta sauce, paper towels and toilet paper, dish soap and laundry soap, personal needs items, and grocery store gift cards.

The Caldwell Food Pantry is operated under the Borough of Caldwell. Anyone needing assistance with food or who would like to donate can call the Department of Human Services at 973-403-4623.
