Former West Caldwell Police Officer Passes Away At 74
Arthur Condit, Vietnam Navy veteran, retired from the WCPD in 1979.

Arthur M. Condit, 74, of Forked River, passed away on June 15.
Condit was born in West Caldwell. He lived there before moving to Forked River in 1987.

Condit served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was a police officer with the West Caldwell Police Department, retiring in 1979. Most recently he was a self-employed carpenter and kitchen designer. He was a member of the Lacey Elks, Moose, Masonic Lodge of Barnegat and a former member of the Rotary Club of Forked River.

Surviving is his wife Barbara, his son John of West Caldwell, his daughter Debbie Kasmi of West Caldwell, his brother Robert of Whiting, his sister and brother-in-law Joan and Thomas Judge of West Caldwell and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at The Church of Saint Pius X in Forked River. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation would be appreciated.
