Gridiron Charity: Caldwell Police Fundraise For Special Olympics New Jersey

Caldwell, NJ – The Caldwell Police Department is fundraising for its participation in the upcoming 2016 Special Olympics New Jersey Charity Flag Football Game.
According to a release, the CPD is asking for help from our local businesses and the community to help reach our goal of raising funds for the Special Olympics New Jersey Charity Football Game being held at Metlife Stadium.
The New York Football Giants Snow Bowl is an official 6-on-6 charity flag football tournament with light blocking, that will be played over three days on March 4 to 6, 2016 at Metlife Stadium.

According to a release, the mission of Special Olympics New Jersey is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Since its inception 10 years ago, Snow Bowl has raised over $1,879,000 for Special Olympics New Jersey, organizers said.

According to a release, the event directly helps more than 25,000 athletes train and compete free-of-charge, year-round, in 24 Olympic-type sports, and 100 percent of donations go to the Special Olympics New Jersey.
This will be the Caldwell Police Department’s second year playing in the Snow Bowl; last year the CPD raised $5,051.
The CPD was also the top fundraiser of any law enforcement team in the whole tournament in 2015, finishing #12 out of 155 teams, according to a release.
