Five Days Left to Vote for Your Favorite Fire Department

You can help your local fire department receive a $10,000 grant while learning to “Be Fire Smart.”

All you have to do is answer a 10-question, fire-safety quiz at www.BeFireSmart.com. By completing the quiz, you will earn a point for your local fire department.

The 10 fire departments with the most points at the end of October will receive $10,000 Pledge Awards from Liberty Mutual.

“The Caldwell Volunteer Fire Dept. is asking all residents to help us option a grant from Liberty Mutual,” stated CVFD Chief Anthony Grenci in a release Monday. “Liberty Mutual is working to make communities safer by offering fire departments a chance to win a $10,000 grant through their fire safety pledge program.”

Whether a resident of Caldwell or not, supporters of the CVFD can pledge by visiting www.cvfdnj.org and clicking the “Help Us Win a Grant” button or by visiting www.BeFireSmart.com.

West Caldwell and North Caldwell fire departments are also eligible to receive grants.

BeFireSmart.com offers free information for protecting your family, home and community from fires. Visitors to the website can learn about common fire hazards and go room by room to make their homes safer.
